Army Chaplain to rape victim: It was gawd's will and go to church more...
FORT LEONARD WOOD, Mo. – The Army is aggressively investigating sexual assault complaints, the commanding general at Fort Leonard Wood said Wednesday — a day after more than a dozen U.S. veterans filed a lawsuit accusing the Pentagon of failing to take their complaints of sexual abuse by older soldiers seriously.

Seventeen current and former service members who say they were raped or assaulted by fellow soldiers said they filed the federal class-action lawsuit to force the Pentagon to change how it handles such cases. One of the plaintiffs was a former Army sergeant who claimed that when she approached a chaplain at Fort Leonard Wood to discuss stress related to running into a service member who had allegedly raped her in the past, the chaplain told her that "it must have been God's will for her to be raped" and suggested she attend church more often.

why isn't that sick, sadistic fuck in the brig? this cannot be the first time he has ever said anything like that--a damned sadistic little perv is he.

by the way, chaplain--if that is your god, he can go fuck himself, because he is one sick, perverted, sadistic fuck, and one lousy deity.

25. Does "Thou Shall Not Be Raped" come before or after "Thou Shall Not Kill" in this guy's mind?
Somebody said it earlier: A real WTF moment.

5. OMG!
That is the WORST thing I have ever heard, and he's a chaplain??????? He should resign himself and look in the mirror as well as read what the Bible says about being victimized. Start with Genesis chapter 34 and go from there! No wonder the world has gone crazy, and people like that have no business calling himself a minister by giving out bad advice like that!

9. Well, of course - the good, properly trained clergy aren't becoming chaplains.
It's mostly fundamentalist/evangelical, untrained, uneducated idiots who think that men are supreme, that war is great, and that America is the right hand of God who are going into the chaplaincy.

I know some legitimate, properly trained chaplains from mainline denominations, and they talk often of their struggle with their asshole brethren who shouldn't be leading a church, let alone being chaplain in war zones.

13. Chaplains serving in the US Armed Forces are on shaky Constitutional grounds imho
The separation of church and state is damn warped already in the military, and episodes like this only emphasize the problem.

16. "mistakes" and "anecdotal evidence"--rape is NOT a "mistake" and, what the HELL is "anecdotal" about
the reports of rape by military members?

progress being made? really? 20 years ago, when I worked with the navy, women who reported being raped were thrown out, and nothing was done to the perps (especially if they were officers) tailhook, anyone????

21. What if they were raped in church?
Or just outside the chapel? Or thirty meters from the tent where soldiers hold chapel? What diffence does it make anyway? They were raped by sub-human bastards that arent being brought to justice.

What would that douchebag say if it was his wife or his daughter that was raped?

23. What can we do about changing that mentality?
I hear it from politicians and now priests. The concept is, get use to being a victim.

That's never going to work. No American, no matter who they are, is going to accept that shit.
