Lobbyist's death ruled accidental
The death of a lobbyist in a Capitol Hill garage fire last month has been ruled accidental by the D.C. medical examiner's office, which said Friday that 37-year-old Ashley Turton died from burns and inhaling "products of combustion."

An autopsy also found that "acute alcohol intoxication" contributed to her death, the office said.

Turton, an energy company lobbyist, was found shortly after 5 a.m. Jan. 10 in her sport-utility vehicle, which was damaged by fire in the garage of her home in the 800 block of A Street SE, authorities said.

(snip)

Authorities said they are continuing to look into Turton's activities immediately before her death and studying the contents and layout of the garage and the mechanics of her 2008 BMW X-5 as they try to establish the sequence of events.

Investigators think Turton was backing out of the garage when the BMW rolled forward and struck a work bench, Piringer said. The "low-speed" collision apparently ignited the fire, Piringer said.

1. Something totally appropriate about the Gestalt of your post--
the energy lobbyist, the garage fire, the flaming tapwater…

2. Do we wait for Wikileaks to come out with the memo?????
Photos looked like a hit job to me, and I don't mean the rolling forward and hitting the work bench kind either. There have been too many accident to friends, SO, and family of key people lately-not to mention actual lobbiest and key people behind the scenes or that would be in the know. I remain suspicious and unconvinced.:hide:

6. I have hesitated to say
that I have my :tinfoilhat: firmly in place. Although, maybe she was sooooo drunk that she was lighting her cigarette when her super safe car rolled into the work bench and it hit the gasoline sitting on the work bench and spilled down under the flames and poof! the car was engulfed in fire and she didn't notice because she was sooooo drunk? Hmm, I'm still not convinced, so can I hide behind your stone wall?

3. We haven't even figured out what was/is going on with all the deaths of bio-chemists?
Every time I hear about deaths of players at that level - I think 'take-out'. I even thought that on hearing the news of the death of Richard Holbrooke (CFR - peace broker - negotiator - State Dept, etc.).

It's sad to live this way.

And there are people in this country who assault us for not putting our hands on our chest for the Pledge of Allegiance and a former AG who had a nude statue depicting the 'Spirit of Justice' covered when giving a press conference.

4. Someone needs to work on a better story
So she left work earlier than usual to get a head start on a busy day but she consumed a large amount of alcohol in a short period of time prior to leaving at 5am only to bump a work bench in the garage which started the fire that killed her?

Really?

:wtf:
