Last Thursday's 30 Rock sorta mocked birthers

"Double-Edged Sword", last Thursday's episode of 30 Rock, had a plot in which Jack Donaghy (Alec Baldwin) and his wife Avery Jessup (Elizabeth Banks) travel to Toronto for the G8 Summit while Avery is pregnant. However, Avery goes into labor, and the couple desperately try to re-enter the United States. Why? Avery worries that their daughter would not be able to run for president because she was born in Canada. Ring a bell?

However, real-life US citizenship by birth law includes being born to two US citizen parents regardless of location. And while Jack and Avery on 30 Rock are conservative characters, Alec Baldwin is actually an outspoken anti-Bush liberal.

I got what they were doing, but it would likely go right over the heads of birthers who would be shouting their agreement.
