I really hope that America is just in the middle ages and not the dark ages
I think that what's going on with climate change, corporate ownership, capitalism, loss of the middle class, schools, and religious hypocrisy all goes against the grain of science and logic.

Faith has overtaken logic and science. Scientist are the most skeptical of even their own......but not the media or socieity.

We need a Renaissance, and maybe it is happening around the world, that looks at things in a planetary consciousness.

Folks.... I posted this video in the Science Forum
it was a discussion by Carl Sagen, Author C. Clarke and
Stephen Hawking, if you want to see how far down
the discussion on modern TV has fallen.

Maybe someone should post that on our video forum.

I worry about this planet and so do these guys.

I know some never go to that forum
that's why I posted it here.

5. That was an excellent video. I watched it last night.
The vid is long but worth the watch, especially if you love science.

I don't know if you could find something like that on TV anymore. Maybe on one of the stations like Discovery, but certainly never on network. Yes, we are in very scary times, when people hang onto the words of those who tell them what they want to hear instead of listening to those that tell them what they need to hear.

I was going to respond to your other post last night but was too tired. Thanks for posting it.

Actually, I hope we're in the dark ages and it can't get any worse.
If the teabagger party sweeps the White House and Senate in 2012, then yes. These were the middle ages.

4. I think you got it backwards

On edit..... that's why I did the Palin post
she is very dangerous to the American Consciousness.

The winnings of the teaparty in the last election brought the intellectual level down to where even climate change is in question. for this nation.

I have the fortunate distinction of observing the US
now without being there from the economic meltdown
that effected me to be where I am.

Anyway..... watch that video......LOL

3. The earth is 6,000 years old
That's pretty old and it's time for the rapture.

Now that the godless have taken over in Egypt and dashed the plans of Saint Ronnie
(100 years old!! Long Live Saint Ronnie: Coincidence with Egypt? I think not)

The world has surely come to its end. Bend over and kiss yer ass (mine too, please) Goodbye!

6. The Dark Ages is a polite term for "Western Civilization"
The rest of the world remained largely civilized while Europe experienced the Dark Ages. The real distinction is the cultural track, the schism of slave-owning cultures achieving military dominance over others to ensnare more slaves IS Western Civilization, the ultimate oxymoron is the Romans are coming after your people.
