Former Obama administration chief of staff and current Chicago mayoral candidate Rahm Emanuel will be the featured speaker during the annual Industry Breakfast at the 2011 International Home + Housewares Show.

Emanuel's (sic) has held a significant lead in the poles (sic) throughout the campaign and is seen as the clear frontrunner in the election, making it likely that he will be the Chicago Mayor-Elect by the time he speaks at the March 8 Housewares Show breakfast.

Emanuel served as the White House Chief of Staff for President Barack Obama. He resigned in Oct. 1, 2010, to run for Mayor of Chicago following the announcement by Richard M. Daley that he will not seek another term. As Chief of Staff, Emanuel helped orchestrate the passage of milestone legislation including the Economic Recovery Act, Wall Street reform, and health care reform. Prior to his role in the administration, Emanuel served three terms as U.S. Congressman from Chicago’s 5th District.

Every Trade Show I have attended this month (Atlanta, Dallas, Vegas, and NY) has had a large uptick in attendance - both exhibitors and buyers.
