How the media lies, or, manipulate the title to influence the reader
This is the ominous title of the article in today's NJ Morris Record

Poll: NJ voters favor labor cuts to balance budget

Ooooooohhhh scary right, cut services and lay off those despicable State workers and balance the budget on their backs? WRONG, reading the article tels a completely different picture;

A new poll finds support among New Jersey voters for state worker layoffs, furloughs and wage freezes to help balance the budget.

The Quinnipiac University Poll out Thursday says voters almost universally understand the seriousness of the state's budget crunch.

Three-quarters of those polled support wage freezes. Two-thirds support imposing furloughs and reducing pensions. More than half support layoffs.

More than half also support a so-called "Millionaires Tax," which amounts to a surcharge on the state's wealthiest earners.

Nearly three-quarters oppose cutting aid to public schools.

The telephone poll of 1,347 registered voters was taken Feb. 3-7 and has a sampling error margin of plus or minus 2.7 percentage points

Framing the debate to favor Crispy Christie's budget plans, but ignoring the truth about the tax increases for millionaires.
