Which matters more in election results? For example, thinking about aggregate behavior of Republicans (to create some perspective) ... would they win more elections by having fewer kids and spending the savings on campaign contributions, or by having more kids and donating less money to political campaigns?

As a rule, they were smart, interesting people, knowledgeable about public policy, liberal in their opinions, expecting nothing more than a hearing of their opinions in exchange for their checks.
