1. If we want change ...
and see how important it is to change the course that is being manufactured for us, then NOTHING is more vital than that.

An integral part of the corporate regime's media is the illusion of choice and the manufacture of consent. It is an essential cog in the gears of the machine that is grinding down and shredding our peoples and our world into a pulp of profit.

The proverbial wool can be pulled from our eyes.

2. Nonsense. The corporate form has nothing to do with the value of news.
Would the news be more 'independent' even if it were produced by a partnership? A sole proprietorship? The government?

As long as there is competition, there will be fair news.

3. There is no competition when there is a corporate consensus...
and that's pretty much what we have. Except that Fox News is a little bit to the right of the consensus.

4. So, you are of the belief that a corporation such as GE won't want the news slanted
to favor it's agenda? Or it's political allies?

Naivety, grows from weeds too......

5. I'd hardly call Olbermann "Independent"
While he does hold the Obama Admin's toes to the fire on occassion, he's admittedly very liberal-leaning. That's neither independent, nor objective.
