Especially their early stuff up to 1977 ( with the exception of Destroyer ) as it is good hard rock with an original sound. As hokey as they could be ( and unfortunately increasingly became ) I do give them credit for being instrumental ( pun intended ) in turning me from an ignorant top-40 radio garbage listener to an album rock fan...and other bands followed. Hard rock / Metal is my favorite sound, and their best stuff could hold its own with any.
