Democrat Dianne Feinstein, back at work after knee surgery, gave tribute to Californian Ronald Reagan today on the 100th anniversary of his birth, calling him a "thoughtful and visionary" leader who used "dignity and wit" as his political weapons, rather than the "name-calling" that she said unnamed contemporary politicans resort to. (Sarah, did you hear that?)

Feinstein lauded Reagan's goal to "one day eliminate nuclear weapons from the face of the earth," and said he came into office already loaded with the "character and charisma" that most politicians spend their careers trying to develop.

(Would it be unfair to note that the Obama administration, not to mention all those Reagan Republicans, are still not only funding a huge nuclear arsenal two decades after the end of the Cold War, but spending billions on nuclear weapons modernization and research?)

Feinstein said her favorite Reagan quote was "Mr. Gorbachev, tear down that wall." She said, "That does it for me."

4. So why do we hold our noses and vote for her?

I'm almost willing to let the seat go Republican for a term once she comes up for reelection. I won't vote for a Republican. I just won't vote for her either. Then we can run a real Democrat against that Republican the next time who would have a chance of being elected. Right now, no primary candidate can match her funding to run against her. I really wish she would just retire and go to Paris, anywhere away from here.

7. Ugh...I dislike revisionists... but I despise the ones that are supposed to be Democrats...

...Raygun was an enemy of the working man, unions, gays and minorities..Ironic that DiFi thinks that his "Mr Gorbachev, tear down that wall" speech was awesome and his goal to eliminate nukes was brilliant whilst conveniently overlooking the fact that it was Gorbachev in Iceland that told Raygun, "you want 'em gone, let's get rid of ALL of them" and it was St. Ronnie that ran away from the negotiating table.

He was a weak-minded puppet, nothing more, nothing less.
