COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — Economic development and job creation in Ohio would be guided by a nine-member private board under a bill passed Tuesday by the Republican-led state House.

The legislation to set up Gov. John Kasich's nonprofit JobsOhio passed on a 59-37 vote, despite some concerns from state lawmakers that the panel would wield enormous investment and contract power with little transparency and oversight. The measure now goes to the GOP-led Senate. snip

The bill sets up a framework for JobsOhio, whose board includes Kasich as its chair. It's intended to eventually replace the Ohio Department of Development.

7. As an Ohioan I can say that it is like falling into a huge dark abyss...

with no help in sight. This man has no fear of any oversight. I can tell you that the day they said he won was a low one. We have many ignorant people in Ohio. They wrap themselves in the flag and tell others how to worship and what to do with their bodies. It is overwhelming.

the only hope i have is that he disappoints the repubes so much that they regret voting him in and will stay home next gov election. of course since i live in this dumbass state it will affect me also, but sometimes you have to slam your finger in the car door before you learn not to do that again.

8. I think it is all about campaign finance

for 2 months Kasich ads every other minute. In every one he was saying nothing. Just what a great family man he is with all of these actors playing everyday folks shaking their heads up and down. Then all the negative ads about Strickland and how jobs were all his fault.
