Gergen: Pushing Mubarek out might scare the other dictators
He said that pulling the rug out from under Mubarek might send a message to the other dictators that they cannot count on us.

The neocon global assault on workers.

4. But .... pushing Mubarak
will show the other dictators of other countries that they need to promote civil rights, freedom to protest/of speech, free open legitimate elections, justice in the legal system, better living conditions for the poor, limited terms for presidents, etc.

If they can't do that, then they can NOT count on us :)

6. This guy speaking now on CNN looks familiar.
Sounds like they are calling him Fubar.

Anyway, I think he is the guy that appeared before congress (and on tv 24/7) and told the stories (lies) about Iraqi soldiers stealing incubators from Kuwait hospitals, among his other big lies.

IOWs he was the propaganda guy that really helped the Bush White House get us into the first Iraq War.

9. he's just telling the truth about the rottenness of the American empire
he and others of his ilk don't care who gets tortured or murdered.

they care about protecting profits for corporations who then offshore jobs and put Americans out of work.

frankly, the American people do not have the same interests as the powerful in this nation.

anyone who thinks the average American's interests coincides with our govt's is a fool.

12. Uh, Mr. Gergen?
The reason some people are dictators is because they don't enjoy popular support. See, if they could win a popular election fair and square, they'd do that. It's the guys who know they can't win a free and fair election that become dictators. If you know anything about democracy, you'd know that already and I have to say it's hard not to feel condescending toward you that I have to point that out.
