DU3 Software Preview: Avatar Images and Signature Lines are now working!

In case you haven't heard, the DU administrators have been working on a complete overhaul of the Democratic Underground software. We are currently hosting a public preview of the software at: http://www.du3preview.com

There are many features on DU3 that have not been programmed yet. We will keep you informed about DU3 features as we program them. The newest features on DU3 are Avatar Images and Signature Lines.

To set up your avatar and signature, go to the http://www.du3preview.com">DU3 Preview Website and click the "My Profile" link at the top of any page. Look for the sub-heads entitled "Avatar image" and "Signature line". Members may select from more than 1000 avatar images provided by DU. Currently you are not able to upload your own avatar images on DU3, however we do plan to program that functionality before the official launch of DU3.

Important: The DU3 Software Is Not Finished! It is a public preview of discussion forum software that is currently under development. It is not a finished product; visitors should expect to encounter bugs, broken links, unfinished features, or other issues typical of software under development.

1. I would like to see a button added that makes it easier to share a thread on Twitter.

Specifically, I'd like to push a single button, and have the subject line along with a TinyUrl or bit.ly link transferred to my Twitter (or TweetDeck) page.

Clicking on any of the links brings up a pop-up for username and password. I can get the cursor in the boxes but type and nothing happens. I am using Firefox 3.6.13.

I keep getting a 401 error, authorization required. I don't know what this means. I typed in my user name and password but it didn't work. :-(

30. It may be they have restricted access to the site temporarily

so that they can implement modules, changes, etc. I was able to get on before, but not now.
