Morning Joe: crickets.... Olbermann?, Olberstein? Olberdorfer? ..doesn't ring a bell
Should we know this person?

Their deliberate ignorance of the "big news" is highly amusing.

When Sanchez "left" CNN, they could not stop talking about it ...for days....

and now, they apparently never knew that big, boisterous man named Keith even worked there

By NOT mentioning at at all , they look even more insignificant & petty.

Of course Joe has to be the happiest of all campers, judging from that grin that's even "grinnier" today.

1. Friday, after Keith's announcement, the first thing I did was to
fire off a letter to MJ letting them know that they had lost our viewership, which only existed because MSNBC carried Keith. Without Keith's presence, the rest of the lineup pretty much stinks, with the exception of Rachel's show which is on after my bedtime.

I want them to know that a portion of their viewership existed because of the goodwill generated by existence of Keith's program.

2. They are under a gag order at MSNBC
According to a story in today's WSJ:

Olbermann's Exit Ends Tumultuous MSNBC Affair (subscription, blocked)

"On Friday evening, MSNBC asked its on-air talent and staff at MSNBC and NBC News to refrain from mentioning Mr. Olbermann publicly for a period of time, according to two people familiar with the matter."

Sad state of affairs for any sense of balance in the news.

8. Personally,
I think Rachel should take Keith's time slot. She is the closest thing they have. O'Donnell makes me yawn.

11. well for our sakes we need to support Ed and Rachel
we need to keep supporting them or it will go RW, why should we give them more reason to celebrate?

Lawrence O'Donnell is kind of boring.

14. well tonite is the test.
we need to watch Rachel tonite and Ed if possible, and if L. O'Donnell numbers are slipping may be they will switch it back, ? possibility of switching it back.

Whatever we do we can't let them take anymore progressives off the air, it doesn't make any sense on network promotes hate and dangerous rhetoric and they take off Keith, still upset about this.

3. They want to keep their jobs. If Keith wasn't safe, then are they?
It makes sense to me. The bosses have spoken.

4. Even the CW's "Morning Buzz" crew mentioned it.
They said Keith is getting $7 million, and he will only be away from television broadcasting for 4.5 months. No news on where he will land, but I suspect we'll be seeing him soon.

13. What Is There To Say?
Until Keith explains his side there's not much anyone can add to this situation other than speculate. This move surely appears to have caught others at the network without notice and how can they comment on something they really don't know about? There's the old saying that you don't crap where you sleep...thus no surprise there's nothing being said about this on MSNBC. It's also no surprise that it's being picked up by their rivals and those who want to use Keith's resignation to score some kind of political points.

15. That's why I thought Scarborough would mention it. He HATES Keith
after Keith humiliated him a couple of years ago on air. It was a wonderful take down. I bet Joe is itching to say something snarky but can't (and receive his paycheck)...
