New NH GOP Chair Jack Kimball: Glenn Beck is "an American hero"
Another self-professed Tea Partier. Gawd, I miss Keith already. This guy could have been a treasure trove for Countdown. Jack is as much of a piece of work as you might imagine:

Concord - New Hampshire Democratic Party Chair Ray Buckley issued the following statement on Jack Kimball's election as the New Hampshire Republican Party Chair.

"Jack Kimball's election as Chair completes the radical right wing take over of the Republican Party in the Granite State. Never before has the chair of either the Republican or Democratic Party in the Granite State proposed a litmus test for candidates. We Granite Staters are by nature fiercely independent people. Either political party forcing everyone of their candidates to have the exact same set of beliefs is directly at odds with that independence.

"In addition, Jack Kimball has a history of making offensive statements. Less than a year ago, as a candidate for Governor, he compared paying taxes to violent sexual assault. That kind of rhetoric has no place in New Hampshire or in civil political discourse anywhere.

"Be it the election of Jack Kimball, or the reckless and out of touch behavior of Republican legislators thus far, it is clear that the New Hampshire GOP is embracing the fringe of their party."

Don't miss this, from last year:

In Concord, gubernatorial candidate Jack Kimball drew cheers with an anti-tax message. He decried the state's taxation of business while criticizing its relatively low level of services.

"I don't mind paying my fair share, folks," he said. "I don't think any of us do. But I do mind when I'm raped. It's awful."

After he left the stage, Kimball said he was referring to the tax burden on small businesses.

3. The two states are actually on different geological plates
Vermont is part of North America - NH and Maine were mushed onto that plate from elsewhere some eons ago...if memory serves.
