Obama marks anniversary of abortion rights case
Obama marks anniversary of abortion rights case
Saturday, January 22, 2011

01-22) 14:34 PST WASHINGTON (AP) --

President Barack Obama is marking the 38th anniversary of the Supreme Court's landmark decision on abortion by calling the procedure a constitutional right he's committed to protecting.

Obama also said in a statement Saturday that he remains committed to policies designed to prevent unintended pregnancies. And he called on Americans to recommit themselves to ensuring that, in the president's words, "our daughters have the same rights, the same freedoms, and the same opportunities as our sons to fulfill their dreams."

1. damn straight, Mr. President! You've got two "hostages to the future" just as I do.
Two of my three granddaughters are your daughters ages. Every time I see a threat to reproductive rights I think of them and what kind of lives they will lead going forward. I fight for reproductive rights because I fight for them. I saw those rights vindicated in my lifetime and I'll be GODDAMNED if I see them taken away from those kids!

2. Damned right
I have two daughters. I fought as a young woman for these rights. I will be damned to see them taken away from my daughters, and perhaps future grand-daughters too.

You can add BIRTH CONTROL to these rights also.

3. HELL YES.
Sorry, I get mad when I even THINK that my granddaughters won't have the rights granted to me and my daughters in our lifetimes. Fortunately, my granddaughters are being raised as good Democrats in MA, one of the bluest of blue states. thank goddess for that!
