Interesting. Massachusetts applied for a waiver from Obamacare, given Romneycare's
having gone effective in Massachusetts years ago. As we all know, Obamacare, Romneycare and Billarycare all stem from Heritage Foundation Care, which, in turn, stems from a group of conserv

atives in Wyoming (Cheney's state) who were terrified by the employer mandate in Nixon Care.

Massachusetts's current Governor is Deval Patrick, who first ran for Governor in 2006, using Axelrod as his campaign manager. Patrick was national campaign co-chair for Obama in both 2008 and 2012, so I assume they are good colleagues, at a minimum.

The Obama administration denied Massachusetts a waiver. Twice.

Apparently, this will result in yet more increases in insurance premiums for Massachusetts residents. (Rates went up heftily after Massachusetts adopted Romneycare.)

2. I've never tried to compare both laws. (I am not that masochistic.)
So, maybe it's about things like Massachusetts not requiring men's policies to cover pregnancy (or women's policies to cover Viagra and prostate cancer, facts which receive less mention).

All I know is, many members of the all Democrat Massachusetts delegation, including my current and former Congressional Reps, and the Democratic Governor oppose the absence of a waiver on the ground that our premiums will go up again--and we are the only ones in the nation who have already done that drill without even getting the T Shirt. (Actually, I have two T shirts from the 2008 Obama Biden campaign on account of I was so generous. (Those were the days. What an idiot!)

I gave both away to my California politics buddy who is still a fan. He's very smart and well-informed, too. I don't get it. Then again, he said, "Never give money to any politician," so he is smarter than I was in 2007-2008, that's for damned sure.
