1. It makes me wonder
what kind of world they lived in to expend such wealth on a single dead man. There wasn't much outside the box thinking going on in ancient China, apparently.

3. King Tut
As far as we know, King Tut's tomb was the only Pharoh's tomb not ravaged by tomb robbers.

The golden items discovered in King Tut's tomb are mind-boggling.

And, it is assumed that his tomb was among one of the measlier ones, given he died at age 19, having ruled only nine or ten years; and there was not much time to throw things together.

I believe Rameses II ruled over 60 years, but the longest reigning Pharoh, Pepi II Neferkare, supposedly reigned 94 years. Theoretically, their tombs would have been much more lavish.

5. Yes, I was also thinking of the Pharaohs and others.
Like you, I have often wondered just how much loot was pilfered from the larger tombs.

7. The Egyptian 9-11 terrorist was supposedly from a family of tomb robbers.

2. I'd be careful too.
I can imagine how much Mercury Vapor has built-up inside the Tomb.

Interesting part about the Terra Cotta Warriors is that there are no two alike, as if they were modeled after real people, at least the real ones. Apparently there is quite a Cottage Industry, making knock-offs to sell to tourists. At hundreds of Kilos per, the shipping charges must be pretty steep.
