Mitt's record on employment as Governor of Massachusetts.
"Better than in the preceding decade."

Many things are unsaid in that, including one fact fact check does not mention: Mitt took office in January 2003. Foe the prior decade and beyond, Massachusetts had Republican Governors. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Governors_of_Massachusetts The last Democratic Governor of Massachusetts had been Dukakis, who left office in January, 1991.

Not only were Romney's predecessors Republicans, but two of them had followed Dummya's lead in sending citizens tax rebates. So, the "lower taxes" stuff and the rest of the trickle down bs was well underway in our state before Romney took office.

Moreover, what was it that Romney himself did during his few years in office that allegedly created jobs, as opposed to the Massachusetts legislature, or the economy in general? Which bills did he send to legislature and ask it to pass?

My strongest recollection of Romney's administration is far from the hardest worker whom Ann Romney tried to portray.

My strongest recollection is of a Governor who was constantly out of state, trying to get himself better known nationally to prepare for his unsuccessful try for the 2008 Republican Presidential nomination.

And, as he made the rounds, the Governor of Massachusetts, who should have been the number one booster of the state, did nothing but moick, snark and insult the state in order to try to make himself seem better. Finally, the Boston media called him out on it and he toned it down.

By the time he left office, Massachusetts was 47th in the nation in job creation. 47th.

Oh, and not long before Romney left office, a piece of the ceiling of the tunnel built during the infamous Big Dig fell down and killed a woman. Romney's response? For the cameras, he took the very same contractors who had built the defective tunnel on a walking tour of the tunnel to determine what was wrong and what needed to be done. Those same contractors had been big donors to his campaign.

Finally, before Romney decided to run, Republican Jane Swift was acting Governor of Massachusetts. She had planned on running for Governor, but when Romney announced, the Republicans threw her to the wolves to clear the way for him.

That's some of my personal recollection of Romney's administration, besides his lies about his state taxes and his residency.

As far as Bain, Romney was not a turnaround specialist. He was a specialist at acquiring distressed companies, firing their employees and selling off the assets, just like Gordon Gekko in the movie Wall Street. IOW, he was just what his Republican opponent Gov Perry, called him, a "vulture capitalist."

And he was not only a vulture as to the companies he took over, but also a vulture to the bank that lent to Bain's parent company, driving it into bankruptcy. He was also a vulture to Mr. Bain and his other partners at Bain's parent company, who had put him in charge of Bain to begin with. (I previously posted about his Bain career.) So, yeah, a real prince in business.

IOW, we have Romney's usual pattern of many claims of staggering success, when the truth is inconvenient--which it always seems to be with Romney.

More about Romney's alleged success at job creation here: http://www.factcheck.org/2012/06/romneys-jobs-record-is-best-or-worst/

And this is why all the focus on running one single winter Olympics, which Romney grandiosely dubbed "saving the Olympics," as though he were single handed responsible for preserving the institution of the Olympics, which originated in Ancient Greece. BTW, how many people have run Summer Olympics and Winter Olympics without writing books about how they saved the Olympics?

The man is a habitually lying ass.
