That Mitt is such a bald-faced liar. And hypocrite.
Not only is Mitt's latest ad slamming Obama for a "reversal of welfare to work" an outright lie, Mr. Romney himself signed a 2005 memo with 28 other GOP Governors, requesting more flexibility over running their own states' welfare programs.
But, they
don't want us to know about that.
Jeb Bush, Romney wanted more welfare flexibility in 2005By Alex Leary
August 7, 2012
Welfare jumped onto the presidential stage today with Mitt Romney asserting that President Obama's administration has tried to weaken work requirements under the 1996 law Temporary Aid to Needy Families.
Romney is highlighting the issue in a new ad (see it
here) and on the campaign trail. The White House and Obama campaign says it's bogus and that the administration was responding to requests from Republican governors who want more flexibility.
And Democrats have dug up a
2005 memo signed by then-Govs. Jeb Bush and Romney and two dozen other Republican governors seeking "increased waiver authority" to manage the welfare program in their states.
We've sought comment from Bush.
(Good luck with that. Jeb Bush HATES the media questioning him.)
Meanwhile, we expect Rubio to pipe up about this any second now.
It is easy to despise these people.
