1. Excellent point
Some were not too happy about the oldster such as Joan Baez singing at OWS at Zucatti park so the young uns need to step up.

2. Yes because we need to do this the exact same way you old'uns did it in the sixties...
...Rock music was your way of getting the message out. We have twitter and youtube.

Thank you for your concern though. I'll make sure to take this up at the next "30 and under" secret council meeting.

12. Well for those of us with kids your age...
And a long history of protests, with or without the music, it made you look like a snippy little know nothing twerp.

My kids know the power in music... the kids over, and under 30... all of them. Come to think of it, all three are musicians... not that it should matter.

Was wrong of me. But seriously a know nothing twerp? I mean I've been here for two years now and you and I have talked about a wide range of issues. I get that I may have been snarky. But I felt like it was in the spirit of the OP which has it's own amount of snark and humor. Seriously. Not sure if you wanted to get at me but you certainly did.

18. My sincere apologies, DFab420...
I didn't think before hitting that button. I guess I got my dander up (something us old folks say) :) when I read your post. Or maybe I'm just not coming to terms with my age? :)

I really am sorry. I have this bad habit of reciprocal snarking... you're a good cat for a young whippersnapper. :)

Now where's that onion I had on my belt? Can you give me five bees for a quarter?

Get off my lawn!

I completely understand the reciprocal snark reaction. I am usually guilty of it at least once a day :).

You also are a very good cat.. that's why I was so taken aback. I would not want to face your ire in anyway. :P

I'll stay of the lawn but not off the grass.......... :D

Occupy Wall Street - Jeremy Gilchrist Original Music - We Are the 99%
I wrote this song for all those protesting in NYC as part of the Occupy Wall Street Demonstrations. Lyrics below:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zlQM8G7_WGQ

They can take our money
They can take our homes
They can steal the future
Mortage our souls

Occupy the politicians mind
Buy the truth and sell us lies

But there's a rising on wall street
I am you and you are me
We are the 99%'ers
On the right side of love and history

It's hard to say where it went wrong
Decades before me and this song
Through the banksters and the wars
You know I just can't take it anymore

There's a rising on wall street
I am you and you are me
We are the 99%'ers
On the right side of love and history

Jeremy Gilchrist

It's out there, it's just no longer on the radio or MTV or wherever the hell people get their music now :)

26. Here's a couple of political songs/videos by rock bands who usually aren't political
I think it's great that these usually nonpolitical musicians were moved to write these political songs, with videos that illustrate what they're singing about. Both videos have some text illuminating the issues.

The first one "Stand" by Candlebox, and it was out a few years ago. (The lyrics include "Fuck you, consumption.")

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BIt0r-Wohm8

The next one is by Buckcherry, whose songs usually are about partying (and sex), raunchy with words that can't be played on the radio. But last year they wrote this song, "Our World," about the problems facing the world, and after the BP oil spill they rewrote it to address the situation.
