7. The truth is so obvious that billions must be spent to drown it out.
A society is not judged by how well they keep their kings, but how they treat the weakest among them. -Anonymous.

9. Truism?: Every RW initiative adds more to the abundance of those who have much, quite often by
taking from those who have too little. This is largely why this bunny despises every RW initiative, and especially those continued/initiated by a Democratic administration. :patriot:

10. Excellent. And so true. I just had a very interesting conversation with a
conservative Christian friend who explained to me in great detail how it is not the job of government to help the needy. Wow.

REC.

29. I get that all the time at my job...
Something about inefficiencies of government and all the waste blah, blah... In their opinion it would be smarter use of the money to just give it directly to the poor bypassing government.... anyway they truly believe what they say too.... blah, blah, the church, the private sector, communities, blah, blah.... I can't figure them out.

11. By this definition
we've regressed back to the Stone Age. Despite the advances we've made in technology, our humanity remains lost to us.

would not have been able to survive.

24. Absolutely. We find evidence of this at archaelogical digs.
For example, we sometimes find remains of those who were clearly unable to walk and required assistance. Qarchaeologists, anthropologists, scientists who study evolution tell us that sharing between klans was a necessity and not rare at all. If one klan made a kill too large to be devoured before it went rancid, the meat would be shared with another klan if at all possible. The other klan would then reciprocate when it made such a kill, thus ensuring the survival of the neighboring klans.

25. I have actually seen this practiced today on the reservation I live on.
When there is a kill it is shared with the elderly and disabled. Even my white family was included in some of the gives.

12. Unfortunately "progress" is now considered a negative word as its been processed by the spin machine
just like liberal. Freedom is a good word. Liberal is a bad word. Progressive is a bad word, therefore so is progress.

I love Franklin Roosevelt. We need him now so desperately.

I'd love a picture with the Eisenhower quote about spending on guns and warships... with updated figures to show exactly how much they're stealing from families, children, education, etc.

...where I got this quote, but I always keep it close to my heart:

"Government is the expression of our commitment to each other."
