He would do something or at least make a statement condemning these outrages if he only knew about them.

Help us Obama wan Kenobi, you're our only hope.

90. I agree..Obama tries to feed Democrats enough crumbs
to try and keep them happy..It doesnt work. Talk to a Democrat locally and if its like my area of residence, they will tell you they don't care about the election because they see no difference in Romney and Obama..They think either one is going to destroy SS and medicare..So is there a big difference?Except one wont admit getting corporate funding and the other one has dinner with them.

70. This oppression should discredit the US government everywhere in the world

But it will probably gain sympathy for its citizens, especially the Occupiers.

Obama's contrary statement should tell people just how Orwellian our corporate nation has become.

71. Apparently democracy is only available in limited quantity
and as we export it, we have less for ourselves.

Cause otherwise the current situation makes no sense.

72. I received an email from Dr.Jill Biden
this evening, asking to sign a birthday card for Joe. I felt like emailing her back & asking her to sign a get well card for Dorli Rainey, and Brandon Watts, and all the other protesters, who put themselves on the line for what they believe in and got pepper sprayed & beaten for it. But I know, it would be a waste of time, because I will just get some automated response back. But I just had to stop and ask myself..what the hell is wrong with these politicians? They are always asking if you "have their backs" when it comes to elections, but I just would like to know if they have ours. Obviously not. What I have seen the past couple of days, is some of the worst cases of police brutality perpetrated on protesters. It's sad what has become of America. And who speaks up for these people? Certainly not the "birthday boy" or his boss. They should be ashamed, truly, ashamed. This is just so upsetting.

76. The worst cases of police brutality, yes. And still, no one has
been held accountable. The brutal attack on Kayvan Sabeghi now has video evidence of what happened, pretty much proving what he said. When the Guardian asked the Oakland Police if there was an investigation going on, or if they would name those who attacked him, they were told there will be an investigation. Will be?? Shouldn't those cops already be off the force and facing charges?

Same thing with Scott Olsen. No one has been prosecuted for that attack either and that cop should be charged with attempted manslaughter at least, if not attempted murder. But all we get is silence.

82. Wait till you hear this! Guess who Obama made a statement about
"President Obama honors Heavy D in statement read at the rapper’s star-studded Mount Vernon funeral" http://www.nydailynews.com/entertainment/music-arts/president-obama-honors-heavy-statement-read-rapper-star-studded-mount-vernon-funeral-article-1.979931

I liked Heavy D's music too...but come on...give me a break. You can find time for that, but you can't speak up for protesters getting the shit beat out of them? And they can find time to ask you to sign a birthday card for Joe Biden?

It's bad enough Bloomberg is going around claiming "Victory" over the protesters. "Victory" can u imagine? Sending out his goon squad fully equipped with riot gear and anything else you can imagine, against a group of unarmed protesters. Can u say "Big Bully"?

You're right, no one has been charged, and I doubt anyone will. At best one of Bloomberg's thugs lost a few vacation days. In the meantime all over the country police continue to savage unarmed protesters. And it's being met with silence.

And yet if it's another country, well then, the administration will speak out, send help if necessary, because we are so "big" on human rights...unless it's for our own citizens. Go figure that one out.

I'm angry, I'm frustrated and disgusted. Shamar Thomas was at OWS one night, trying to help out and all I can think of were his words "There is no honor in this, these people are unarmed" I wish someone like that was in office now. But sadly, they aren't.

I've called, I've written, I've marched. I won't give up on OWS, but I've just about given up on my representatives. I guess they feel what OWS stands for, puts them in a bad light some how. Otherwise I can't understand their refusal to acknowledge what's happening and say or do something about it.

The highlight of my day was this "An ‘Occupy Wall St.’ Thanksgiving: New York chef planning massive feast for protesters" http://www.nydailynews.com/new-york/occupy-wall-st-thanksgiving-york-chef-planning-massive-feast-protesters-article-1.980095

There are a lot of good people out there, too bad no one is listening to them.

Edmund Burke said all that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing. Do not allow evil to triumph. Do not do sit by and do nothing. But that's exactly what we are seeing now, and it's sad.

83. Don't give up, this movement is getting stronger and will not
be going away. Bloomberg is an idiot and would not be Mayor if he had not bought it. No one listens to him anymore. Like Giuliani, by the end of his term he was at 28% approval rating, another bullying thug who hated the poor and minorities. But then 9/11 happened, and the PTBs made him a hero, which he definitely was not, in fact he was a coward.

The reason they are all silent may be because they know more than we do. People are now doing a lot of research to try to find out what exactly is going on. Why there is a concerted effort to destroy this movement and who is directing. I have a feeling with so many people working on this, we WILL find out.

Check out this story, eg, and you have to wonder, was the military involved also? http://www.armytimes.com/news/2008/09/army_homeland_090708w/

Read the whole thing. I find this to be very disturbing. Since when was it constitutional to 'deploy' the Military to the 'Homeland' to 'deal with Civil Unrest, armed with 'non-lethal weapons'? These are the questions Congress needs to answer, and they need to be asked 'is this a war on the American people, approved of by this Government, is this why you are all silent, cowards'?

I too am very angry, and so are a lot of people. But the movement is exposing things we did not know about and the independent media and some cable networks are good at disseminating information, more so than during the early Bush years. Which, btw, that group Perf, is now working on, probably readin this forum also.

visited the set of the morning show "Live" so he could sing the praises of departing host Regis Philbin. When it comes to the Obama admin. actions definitely speak louder than words.

87. History repeats itself, but Obama & his administration are blind to it.
Czar Nicholas & Czarina Alexandra listened enthfalled to their advisor, Rasputin and never heard the crowds marching through the streets of St. Petersburg and massing at the gates of the Winter Palace.

Louis the XVI was similarly clueless and ineffectual at responding to the demands of his impoverished subjects.

We thought we elected a progressive democrat, but we got a wanna-be monarch.

99. Egypt doesn't have a First Amendment
It's not really the same thing. Couldn't Obama just assume our police will respect those same rights? But can't about Egypt.

I see people going out of their way here to find themselves victimized by just about every institution we have in this country.

105. Well, yes, Obama could assume that "our" police will respect
those same rights. And he would be DEAD FUCKING WRONG. As has been proven. So what's he going to do now? Will he continue to turn a blind eye to the oppression of the people of this nation or will he grow a fucking pair and stand up for what is right?

Or are you saying the protesters deserve what they are getting?

I do agree that we can't count Obama out. He will probably get re-elected, and then he can do LOTS more favors for his Billion Dollar campaign contributors.
