THEY HAVE NO DEMANDS.... I hear here more often than I care
THEY SHOULD OCCUPY CONGRESS...

Well, what did I learn by watching Keith Olberman after coming home from a local occupy where there WERE DEMANDS... 'thing our MSM will studiously avoid.

What did I learn? That OWS has sent a comprehensive proposals to the Super Committee to realistically deal with the problems. I admit, I don't expect this to be covered in the other networks... I mean it goes against a concerted media \ RW narrative, but it is what it is. We have the freest media in the world (if you consider number 38 number one... and I suspect 38 and falling)

Oh well... at times I wish I could just take my SOMA tablets and go back to sleep... oh wait that would be a long dose of FOX.

5. Re-read the OP
and the specific demand today at the bridge was... HEALTHCARE... SINGLE PAYOR HEALTHCARE...

Is that specific enough?

The other SPECIFIC ONE was for Bian Brilbray to VOTE for the America Works Act, and damn it JOBS. Oh and yes. specifically to the bridge "BRIAN BILBRAY FIX THIS BRIDGE."

IS that specific enough for you?

Context he is the Congress critter for that district...

12. The list of very specific demands today are what I listed
but OWS has demands. They range for economic justice (healthcare, student debt forgiveness, higher taxes for the one percent) to environmental justice.

Now serious, you can do a little work and find this on the web, or preferably go to a GA or two... trust me, taking to neighbors is great for the soul.

But this they have no demands, IS a RW meme.

16. The point of the OP was that indeed there are demands
I have listed them on and off repeatedly. The point was that OWS has sent a COMPREHENSIVE proposal to the Super Committee...

The pont is that this is getting ridiculous since anybody who cares can find them.

9. HERE...from the Horses' mouths...
What do you want: what are you protesting for/against?

We are not merely a protest movement. What we communicate is not just outrage, but a full-on call to action.
Further, we do not have one or two simple demands (though many demand them of us). We are a movement
which does call for accountability, however – accountability to ourselves and to our country.

We must be accountable to ourselves. First and foremost, we are calling upon ourselves, and upon one another, to wake up and employ our power as citizens: to participate rather than observe, to raise our strong voices together, rather than complaining feebly in isolation. We cannot ‘whine’ about the injustices wreaked upon us if we have been complacent and silent in the face of these injustices. We must take responsibility for our own futures – and here at Liberty Plaza, that is exactly what we are doing, by modeling the kind of society in which everyone has a right to live. Here in Liberty Plaza, having lost our sense that we live in a democracy, we are reclaiming its practice.
Our government must be accountable to us, and corporations must be accountable to the government. We are saying definitively: We no longer live in a democracy, and we refuse to accept that. We seek an end to the collusion between corrupt politicians and corporate criminals, as democratic and capitalist institutions have become conflated. As such we must see major advances in the arena of the relationship between corporations, and people, on par with the amendments which outlawed slavery and assured civil rights to all people regardless of race, sex, or class.

10. maybe misposted the above in the wrong place... BUT
I have also seen from the Occupiers these nuggets of wisdom:

Re-instate Glass-Steagall
Overturn Citizen's United (there's a bill to do just that but it will most likely die in the House)
Debt-forgiveness
Foreclosure Moratorium
Environmental Accountability
etc...

that's all i can think of at this time of night...

13. How many more ways do we have to say, give us back our fucking money?
Jobs, raise taxes on the rich, end corporate dominance in our government and lives. Don't touch the social safety net. It's not that complicated. The 1% only speak money though, so they aren't hearing the message.

14. There are some specific demands, but it's also really OK that it's so broad.
As reported in the San Francisco Examiner on 10/19/11, economist and activist Robert Reich gave Occupy San Francisco's troops a pep talk, saying they are part of a movement that will change American society. "I really do believe we are on the cusp of a fundamental change," Reich said.

The Occupy movement has a broad cause, mainly for a more economically just society – but that concept cannot be boiled down into a list of specific demands, Reich said, adding that the message will become more refined as the protests spread and encompass more people.
...

5. It has no targeted endpoint. Why should it have an endpoint? If we are "on the cusp of a fundamental change," as Robert Reich and I think, then no endpoint is either seeable or thinkable.

6. It will proceed according to no plan. How on earth could there be a plan? Changed minds among voters, legislators, and national leaders will have to grope their way step by step toward a restoration of economic justice for all. No plan will present itself all of a piece, fully formed.

20. I don't get you at all, nadinbrzezinski.
Which may be your objective, after all.

You seem to think that if people don't think exactly the same way you do about OWS, we are all just stupid people.

You talk about how it's so easy to see a list of demands for OWS and then refuse to list them.

We are all on the same side.

21. Repetition creates belief in America. The mind accepts it and rejects reality
when it differs.
