1. While that's the sad truth, you really can't blame the cops - that's their job.
It is wrong and you can see on their faces that most of them know it is wrong. So what do they do? Do they disobey orders and go home to tell their SOs that they were fired for doing the right thing? I might, I don't know. In this post-shrub economy, it is hard to blame someone for doing something immoral to keep a job when they are so hard to come by. I'm torn.
They're not monsters. They're public servants who have been ordered to defy the rights of the public they serve. Would you want to be in that position?
I've known a few asshole cops, but not many. Most of the ones I've encountered (and I've had guns and tasers drawn on me) were just doing what they are trained to do and what was within the confines of the law. I wouldn't want to be in their position right now.
11. No, they're truly good people being forced to do things they don't want to do.
That's why almost every video involving abuse shows them laughing about it afterward. When I'm forced to hurt someone for no good reason, a hearty belly laugh is always my response.
