KANSAS CITY, MO (KCTV) -
A man offered disturbing reasons for killing two men, according to court documents.
The man claimed he killed one man because he was HIV-positive and having unprotected sex, according to court documents. The man claimed he killed the second man because he was a crack cocaine user who could not be trusted, according to court documents.
"I had to put him out of his misery," Bronson Joyce, 19, allegedly told Kansas City Police detectives.
The Jackson County Prosecutor charged Joyce with two counts of first-degree murder, one count of first-degree assault and three counts of armed criminal action.
A release from the prosecutor's office said witnesses told police that Joyce was inside the apartment when he shot and killed Claude Carson, 61, and Alphonso Nicholson, 42, and wounded a third person during a drug deal. The shootings occurred at two apartments in the 2500 block of Benton Boulevard about 6:30 a.m. Saturday.
