Anyone listen to Thom Hartmann today? A little ominous, but I agree with him.

Referencing the Occupy movements, he said that we're at one of those points in history where a revolution is indeed underway, and that the political/economic system is imploding. He also mentioned two scenarios: 1) A global economic collapse or 2) Real efforts to fix the problems, of which, he said 1) is most likely because nothing structural has changed since the meltdown.
Sobering, but necessarily so.

If you listen to him often enough you would know that he is the eternal optimist. That is mostly why I listen to him, when I think that the problems we face are hopeless I can count on Thom to give me hope.

And we're not alone...this is basically a world-wide problem. The oligarchs have taken over with the only intention to profit off the system while the rest get screwed. Unfortunately for us, the PTB has figured out how to profit off of destruction, disaster and chaos.

So, no, I don't see a global meltdown out of the question, but in fact part of the big picture plan. For one thing the oligarchs hate government and democracy, so the best way to shrink its influence and to get it out of the way of profiteering is to drown it through reduced tax revenue brought on by unemployment and economic collapse.

Power and profit is their only motive, their only religion.

It's time to take the power back to the people!

What they can destroy, they can control. This means =everything=. Yep, they'd destroy the world economy in order to use it as a power grab. They're already doing it. They are buffered by riches and investment in more stable items such as gold so a crash wouldn't hurt them very much, and the potential benefits are...complete.

I've been screaming about this for years. Google me up on teh DU with the phrases "money buddies" and "kings and queens" and perhaps "unaccountable" or "unaccountability".
