I saw this on Facebook when I poking around. Let's make it happen, people. I did my part, and contacted this clown and let him know exactly what I think (in a civil and courteous manner as the author suggested).
"I don't typically comment on political affairs. In this case, I make an exception. Most recently, Rick Womick, a U.S. Representative from the 34th District of Tennessee, made the unfortunate comment that Muslims currently serving in the Armed Forces of the United States of America should be expelled for "disloyalty". To say that this is an egregious insult against not only American Muslims, but against the very founding principle of the American Republic, is a gross understatement. He's slandering American Muslims who currently serve in the US Armed Forces; he's also slandered every Muslim who has previously served in the American Armed Forces. For those of you in the United States, or for those of you who know someone in the United States, I urge you to contact Representative Womick and let him know that he's wrong. Please, be civil in your e-mails, telephone calls, or faxes. Anger, hostility, or obscene language will not create a favorable impression. I especially urge those of you who may happen to be his constituents in the 34th District to contact him, and politely, and civilly point out his erroneous belief. His contact information is as follows;
Rep. Rick Womick 207 War Memorial Building Nashville, TN 37243 615-741-2804
E-mail; info@RickWomick34th.com
Website; www.RickWomick34th.com
Representative Womick, under the First Amendment to the US Constitution, has every right to express his beliefs, no matter how outrageous, erroneous or just plain fatuous they may be. That his not only his right, but the right of every American citizen, and as an American, it's a right that I cherish above all. However, the American Muslim community has every right to express it's opinions as well, and as Mr. Womick is a duly elected Representative of the Congress of the United States of America, then he in turn must listen to the voice of the American people. O Muslims, let your voices be heard, and stand up against bigotry in all forms. Freedom of speech and freedom of religion are glorious American traditions. Hatred and fanaticism are not.
And above all, keep it civil, polite, and absolutely courteous."
Come on, folks.....let's let Rep. Womick know that hatred isn't a family value, and there's a whole lot of America out there beyond his narrow-minded constituents.
