1. The thing that amazes and pleases me the most about all the Occupy images...
the diversity. Old and young and white and chicano and man and woman and child and family, it's great.

5. I know but so many other groups have tended to have an overriding uniformity.
Not just the old, white of the Teabaggers, but also Latino and immigration issues, perhaps many of color joined in but primarily random shots were understandably groups of Latinos, and student loan reform, primarily young folks, and so on. I think the only thing that comes close recently were the anti-war rallies that MSM ignored over the past decade, oh... now that I think of it, Jon Stewart's rally was very diverse, that was recent, not much else I can think of.

Great to see it here, really a showing of the 99%, not anarchists, or kids, or homeless, or vets, but all of us. Really cool.

mainly on the Homeland Security building.

About 30 minutes ago(?) the helicopters started showing up, probably checking out how to set up the raid (logistics).

32. They've heard that this is a three-day attack, to completely end the #Occupation.
At an estimated $800-$1000 per day per kop, add it up.

OakFoSho was lambasting them about spending that money against a peaceful demonstration that was actually helping people, versus putting that money into solving the actual problems the city faces! Such as homelessness, mental illness, crime, violence, lack of education and educational material, etc. It's just sickening, and he promises they will not be allowed to forget it!

42. No. Its the easiest target because they're in one place
The tougher thing is to clear the streets of everyone else.

I imagine they will begin moving down 1 or 2 streets to start corralling the crowd. Using tear gas if any resistance...

The closer the circle tightens the better they can strengthen their perimeter.

63. Yeah...
I'm watching CNN and OakFoSho streams simultaneously.

Was watching the cops moving in lines in front of an intersection. Looked like they were going to form a double line formation but the one line in back moved past down the street.

I did notice the back line was dressed in green as compared to the others tonight who were all in black.

Just info from watching CNN stream; no commentary going on though...

64. Media being heavily handled today. Plaza was declared a crime scene
to limit their access. An Info Officer from OPD conducting tours. After the rousting, OPD led reporters through camp, thereby framing the reporting.

This was a PR event, folks. I wonder how many thousands of dollars it cost to stage with forces from at least 12 venues responding.
