1. For "no-serious" candidates, one is going to beat Obama...seriously....and very sad it will happen.

2. Diebold can do a lot for a Teabagger
If the election is close than one of those not a "serious" candidate is liable to win.

don't feel that the current Republican candidates are serious, doesn't mean that the general population won't take them seriously.

At this point in time President Obama is vulnerable, whether he will be more or less vulnerable come next November remains to be seen and will be very dependent on whether the jobs and economy issues improve.

4. No. Its too late in the game now and if a potential candidate was 'serious' they'd know it
The Republicans, as usual, have shot their wad too early in the game. They have their zoo of yahoos batteling it out now and taking all the air out of the room. If a new candidate were to pop up it would have to happen at their Convention and that leaves them almost no time to set up a machine on the ground in most states, get the name recognition they need, stomp down their own internal self-hate groups, and of course get the religious right's approval of the candidate.

So I don't see it happening, and of course there is one other big reason too. They simply do not have anyone to run.

6. I've a very strong suspicion that the stage is set
for a spoiler to run as an Independant to upset the apple cart.

Could happen as late as next spring or summer.

This suspicion is bolstered by the rapid ascension and fall of so many contenders.

We shall see.

10. I think they're trying to throw this election.
Then, if our economic situation improves in the next few years, they can count on a certain amount of amnesia in 2016, and go back to their usual God, Guns, and Gays bullshit.

15. It depends on what you mean by serious.
If you mean a serious candidate with serious ideas, the answer is no.

However, if you mean a candidate who will provide a serious challenge to Obama's second term, the answer is yes.
