Our entire town offices that were up for election-- Town Supervisor, judges, councilors, clerk, etc. were all running unopposed on the Republican ticket. No one else to vote for-- and many county offices as well.

1. So are you saying you voted for Republicans?
I certainly hope not...If that was MY only alternative I just would not vote at all..

2. Actually, I voted for our County Executive
who is republican running unopposed. She has worked well with our local city's Democratic Mayor, renegotiating sales tax distribution to better fund the city school system. This has resulted in surrounding towns (including mine) to have a pay a bit more but I think the suburban school districts can afford it. I actually vote for the person, not necessarily the party designation. Interestingly, the right wing trolls that post in our newspaper comments section can't stand her. I also voted for our town supervisor who was open minded enough to offer my friend a job that she ultimately created that provides a Shakespeare in the Park program for our kids every summer. Perhaps if the local Democratic party thought they could do better they might run some candidates. Ultimately, they forfeited.

3. I've voted for some of our republicans here too. They were doing superior
jobs and were moderate, in fact, a little left. We've had some democrats running here that sounded more right wing than the right wingers.
