Lots are false.
Some are true.
But most fools wave the red, white and blue...
While they leave behind what's true

It used to stand for freedom.
Now it stands for death.
While hungry kidds take their last whispering, lingering breath

ALL flags are like a death symbol or lie
as hunger gnaws at kids till they refuse to try
when their hopes begin to rot in decadent doom
in some sickly, deathlike fly filled room

Flags can cover rape, hate and abuse
like roadside crosses where hell cut loose

The PTL club takes all they can steal;
While radio plays "Jesus Take the Wheel."

When will it end? Where does it stop?
Who can cut off the grim reapers crop?

Will he use it like a whip, for anyone that gives him lip?

I don't suggest that saints commit sins
But when everyone losses, no one wins

Wave your flag until you're dead
or walk where angels fear to tread

Mostly flags get people killed.
While money-brokers get people thrilled
as the innocent's get their blood spilled.

Propaganda is a fun filled flag
Like a resignation dressed in drag
It's all about someone's right to brag
or call you racist names or a fag

If you're an assertive female, they call you bitch
If you're not Christian they'll burn you as a witch

The pious hold their crosses high, while waving flags in your eyes.
Flashing flags can even hypnotize
while powerful people stop your cars so they can brutalize
and inject poison into your thighs

They poison souls claiming it's from heaven's sky
As war machines make children die

So, let's all wave our banners high.
And spit our venom toward the sky
what's the price or ultimate sum?
If there's a God, when will He come?
Is it cash or magic math, that showers the world in a red blood bath?

Maybe it's some sports event, that steals away our gas and rent

I don't mean to be a drag.
So let's go out and burn a flag!

(you younger people won't understand. Flag burning is a 60's thing)

1. I'm 30 and I understand

Ever since 2000, I feel disgust and revulsion and horror when I see the American flag.

Lately, though - the ones I've seen at Occupy protests have looked somewhat pretty.

What I've seen being burned there is dollar bills, and that is something I can totally get behind. My favorite part of The Dark Knight is when the Joker lights the pile of money on fire. :)

2. Whhe movie en I grew up my best friend's dad managed the movie theaters...

The last movie I saw was Sucker Punch. I really related it to the movie on a personal level.
