Tornadoes and Earthquakes
Oklahoma is experiencing both tonight.

Tornadoes in the south and west part of the state.

Another 4.7 earthquake in the same area as those of the past few days.

1. Even my normally stoic husband is a little freaked...
and I am in Ohio for work, so I'm not going to get much sleep.

2. The earth moves, and weather happens.
Sometimes it's not good for those of us trying to stay alive and keep our stuff together, but the world has done this for a long time, and it will continue to do so after we're gone.

6. I'm still trying to decide if
it's safe to hide in the tornado shelter during an earthquake.Depending on the shelter, I'm thinking there might be a problem with that.

Or should I just go outside because of the earthquake - even though there are tornadoes?

8. Well, speaking from a CA mentality
I'd just get oustide the building, stand where two walls meet, or lie flat next to a sofa (something about that 45 degree angle thingy when things fall...) :)

5. My daughter called me to tell me she felt the 'quake. She's in
Independence, MO near Independence Center just north of I-70. She was kinda of panicky. I'm in Kansas City, midtown just a few blocks south of I-70. I didn't feel a thing!

11. We couldn't tell if it was the earthquake or the thunder.
The time the quake took place, a massive thunderhead was coming in, before the storm. It has been thundering and lightening here for some 4 hours solid.
