Michigan GOP state senators STILL at it!
"Jobs? Who cares about jobs? We need to kiss up to the Teabaggers and right-wing Jesus freaks!"

Remember the Michigan GOP in the state senate, that crammed an exemption into an anti-bullying law for religious or "moral" reasons?
They're still at it...

"A group of Republican state senators have proposed a bill that would make the Pledge of Allegiance mandatory for every public school student in Michigan."

1. That's all they do in Michigan for its population now--make up bullshit.
That's what they get paid for-sitting around with a bunch of fucking bullshit only to create more bullshit.

And when they're all done-if ever- basically nobody in this state will be able to take a shit without a passport, a dispensation from Homeland Security, twenty or so religious stickers on their cars, a fucking bridge to God knows where and..

The Pledge of Allegiance.

The Michigan Legislature Does Nothing Except Make Up Stupid Stuff.

5. Bit of a correction...
HUAC was the House Un-American Activities Committee.

McCarthy (pictured) borrowed their M. O. and took it to the Senate.

3. Pledging allegiance to the U.S. is something business leaders ought to do
Edited on Mon Nov-07-11 07:57 PM by DaveJ
Instead of sending all our jobs overseas and working everyone who does have a job to the grave. Maybe people would be a little more accepting of pledging allegiance to this country if the fat cats who run things gave a shit about us. I mean, really, fuck that, pledging allegiance to the U.S. now is basically pledging allegiance to corporations. Fuck that.

4. It's been a law in MO for as long as I've been teaching
But most of the schools where I've worked have ignored it. No idea what the penalty is or if they even enforce it. I'm thinking not.

I'd rather see them wasting their time with this kind of trivial nonsense than passing more dangerous bills. This mandated pledge is pretty much a non BFD.
