Why is begging by political candidates more acceptable than begging by vagrants?

If political candidates aren't willing to earn the money that they want to use for political advertising, then they shouldn't advertise. However, they should eat. As a society, we can afford to feed them.

2. When corporate CEOs do their best to maximize profits for their shareholders, they get praised.
Bonuses, stock options, free propaganda in the WSJ, Fortune & Money.

But when union reps try to do the same thing for the workers they represent....
