3. What is predicted to happen?
Seriously, I didn't expect this so soon, so I haven't looked that much into it.

8. This conglomerate will have control over the delivery of its competetors content.
Stuff from Micro$oft, NBC, and other properties of this conglomeration could have preferred routing on their network. Stuff like that.

12. You act like people are forced to buy cable. Everyone has a choice to buy
cable as a luxury. The "free market" is working just fine in this case.

18. I wonder sometimes what makes some people call themselves Democrats
you know what I mean? If I wanted to hear the Reaganite Frei-Market-Uber-Alles point of view I could just hang out at some Republican site.

14. After the Digital Conversion, some people are forced
This is beyond wrong. There are people who were able to get by on rabbit ears and a regular TV for many years. No Cable was needed. But then the Digital Conversion happened. most people lost channels they were able to get over the air because now the signal is lowered or split. Those people went to cable companies to finally get service. Even if it was just the loca channels, they now have to get cable to get any service. So yes, it is being forced on some people.

15. You know where we can all get a good set of "rabbit ears" to get a few approved TV stations?

That'll work!

Who needs or wants cable ....

or a computer ....

or a cell phone ....

or a car ....

or a CD player ....

or air conditioning ....

or running water ....

or flush toilers ....

or a frig ....

or electricity ....

in 21st Century America?

We can all be more frugal and live in tents or live off the land like serfs!

17. Were you around when your choices for phone service were AT&T, an AT&T holding like BellSouth,
or no phone service at all?

7. Of course. With this court and these politicians, its all going to come undone now.
Edited on Tue Jan-18-11 02:21 PM by Poboy
And by 'all' I mean our protections, rights, and safeguards.
And by 'undone' I mean destroyed.

...and when I type politicians I mean corporatists who infest BOTH parties now.

16. Sigh
Ok Rachel Maddow, I guess this is where you hit Amy Goodman up for a job. Considering that pacifica has lately turned into it's own little corporate model, I have little hope.
