I have realized some things about myself:
I have become used to not believing a single thing a Madison Avenue ad tells me about a product.
I have become used to tolerating these drug ads that tout the benefit of a drug and then tell you it might kill you.
I have become used to assuming that my 401K was going to continue to shrink because of the recklessnes and greed of Wall Street.
I have become used to the fact that my elected representatives go to Washington, get rich and never give me a second thought.
I have become used to the fact that all politicians lie.
I have become used to the concept that money is power and that people are powerless.
I have become used to the fact that this country no longer has a fair media and that, with few exceptions, the news does not educate, it propagandizes.
I have become used to a whole lot of things...like the frog in the pot on the stove...sitting there happily as the water slowly comes to a boil, all warm and comfortable... until it does and then, too late. For at least 30 years that pot has been coming to a boil and, thanks to OWS, I'm out of that pot and I believe I'm in very good company and definately in the majority.
