CENTERTOWN, Ky. — Emergency workers were trying to rescue two miners trapped under a collapsed highwall at a western Kentucky coal mine, officials said.

The two workers, employed by a blasting crew, were driving a truck near a highwall at Armstrong Coal's Big Run Mine near Centertown when it collapsed around 6:30 a.m., according to Charles Shields, director of the Ohio County Emergency Management Agency.

The men were believed trapped in or near the truck under rock and earth, Shields said. He said workers were trying to free them. The men's identities were not immediately available.

2. Over regulation caused this. Or maybe it was unions. Coulda been either.
Hope they're safe.

5. Doesn't sound good
That's like being caught in a massive rock slide. Here's hoping the truck protected them.
