San Francisco police gathered at staging areas and geared up, but the word never came. Ed Lee backed down. He witnessed the end of Jean Quan's political career and did not want to follow in her footsteps. He also did not want to arrest a third of the Board of Supervisors and four election opponents for mayor. Special thanks to:

All those police in buses were just "on standby," just in case those Oakland troublemakers decided to move into the SF camp. :D
