Our allies on the Hill say the bill's so bad that it could effectively destroy Youtube, Twitter, and other sites that rely on user-generated content by making the sites' owners legally responsible for everything their users post.

Nobody will want to take that risk, so sites like Youtube and Twitter could be forced to shut down.

Facebook, Myspace, and Google+ would be at risk. The cyberlocker and streaming provisions could affect your iPhone, Android, AmazonCloud, Pandora, Grooveshark and even your email accounts.

And all of this is being driven by a few major corporations who are trying to protect their private profits.

3. I believe this refers to the Protect IP bill that was discussed

in August. Since the site at your link doesn't actually identify the bill, it's impossible to say. For that reason, I can't say I encourage signing what is basically a blank petition and providing your address and email to this site.

All petitions having to do with bills before Congress should include, at a very minimum, the title and number of the bill. Otherwise, you're signing a petition about nothing. Such petitions are of no interest to legislators.

8. "the Holland solution" - or partial solution

I have read that about 1980 holland had (may still have) creative folks on a state salary -- no copyright royalties. Eg fiction writers.

If not included (my info was sketchy) the idea should be expanded to

Inventors
Singers, musicians
Photogs
Etc...all copyright folks

Then no legal tangle messes, no undeserving superrich.
