I just read a really neat thing in this article about GLBT.
With regards to people who say they chose to be heterosexual....

"Do the people who put forward this argument realize what they are confessing about their own sexuality? We couldn't be straight, no matter how hard we tried. If Cain or Bachmann or Ssempa are saying they "chose" to be straight, and could have chosen otherwise, they can only be confessing to repressed bisexuality -- and projecting it outwards onto everybody else. If you "chose" your heterosexuality, then you are not entirely heterosexual."

It took me a minute of reading this but once I got it it blew my mind!

2. I know I never chose to be straight. I was just never attracted
sexually to members of my own sex, but strongly attracted to members of the opposite sex. I didn't make any choice, and assume others had similar experiences.

heterosexuality. Or any other orientation, of course.

Nice catch. And I agree with those who say the homophobes don't seem to know what they're saying about themselves.

5. Well, yes, but it's true, as their bathroom busts indicate.
The ones who are actively playing a homophobic role in public often are bisexual, and extremely unhappy with it. I mean, for chrissakes, would YOU want to be a right-wing, family-values politician who just happens to like to suck cock? They need all the help they can get from society in not just pulling random guys' pants down and going for it.

Acceptance of one's own sexuality just makes it so much easier.
