Want to know why we should get rid of voting machines and have verifiable election counts?

"It is enough that the people know there was an election. The people who cast the votes decide nothing. The people who count the votes decide everything."-Joseph Stalin. Until we actually know who is counting our votes it doesn't matter who we pull the lever for.

the paper ballots it doesn't matter who we pull the lever for.

Because, if we the people don't "hand count the paper ballots" the 1 per centers will be glad to count them for us with their ELECTRONIC/MECHANICAL BALLOT COUNTING MACHINES.

HCPB people please chime in...

KNR...

6. After HAVA was passed in '02
like alot of people, I was obssessed with the EVM's and raising awareness about their ownership and hackability.

However, I only recently heard that the shelf life on the machines was only 10 years.

So next year, it's likely not only that the vote tallies will be hacked but alot of the machines may malfunction due to age alone.

Through in all the voter ID regulations and disenfranchaisement of lower income, younger, and older voters and we've got a very dicey situation.

8. I wonder what can be done about electronic voting in the short run
In other words, where are the hackers for our side when we need them? Could Anonymous do something to correct the malicious Republican code?

7. I have tried to inform people about EVMs but they all listen and basically
say - wow that would be terrible if what you have read ""is really true"" about those machines

People do not want to accept the fact that this way of voting has a lot of holes your vote can drop down into.

This and voter ID pretty much can swing anything
