Here Are The Four Charts That Explain What The Protesters Are Angry About...

http://www.businessinsider.com/here-are-the-four-charts-that-explain-what-the-protesters-are-angry-about-2011-10

(Henry Blodget is CEO and Editor-in-Chief of Business Insider.)

Here are the four key points:

1. Unemployment is at the highest level since the Great Depression (with the exception of a brief blip in the early 1980s).

2. At the same time, corporate profits are at an all-time high, both in absolute dollars and as a share of the economy.

3. Wages as a percent of the economy are at an all-time low. In other words, corporate profits are at an all-time high, in part, because corporations are paying less of their revenue to employees than they ever have. There are lots of reasons for this, many of which are not the fault of the corporations. (It's a global economy now, and 2-3 billion new low-cost employees in China, India, et al, have recently entered the global workforce. This is putting pressure on wages the world over.)

4. Income and wealth inequality in the US economy is near an all-time high: The owners of the country's assets (capital) are winning, everyone else (labor) is losing.

So, Facebook idiots, the message is not 'anti-capitalism', it's not 'blaming wall street' or 'anti-americanism'.

The message is not at all confusing, muddled or unclear, despite what the deep-thinkers on Fox and CNN tell you.

It's very plain: Ninety nine percent of this country's citizenry have been held down, downsized, off-shored, impoverished, so that the other 1% could reap financial benefit at unheard of levels AT OUR EXPENSE. And they refuse to repay in any way those that they have exploited, whether through livable wage growth, or even just ponying up a few more tax dollars to sustain the country, its citizens, and the infrastructure that have contributed so much to their success.

THAT'S why there are people in the streets all over the country, and those right wing tools who are mocking them should realize that those people are speaking on their behalf as well. Not they'd ever acknowledge that.

12. hmm...
I've been calling this "radical income inequity" and I've hoped that more of us will realize the damage done by the vile uber wealthy hedonists across the globe who own and control better than 45% of the planet's resources, including HUMAN resources. Such inequity is unsustainable, and the OWS initiatives underscore this fact.

20. All the people who I know who are CONs,
stopped sending me their propaganda, because I keep refuting it to them and their friends. I really don't see much of it, except for in the ads on the sidebar.

So, perhaps if you refuted each and every bit of lies, and called them lies, your FB friends would also stop sending you their garbage.

they have bought the Fox propaganda, hook, line and sinker.

Now they are pushing the story that the protesters are anti-semitic.

Groan.
