Breaking: DEA Raiding Medical Marijuana Grow In Mendocino
Here is another one today Folks..
California is being invaded by the Feds to shut down Cannabis access totally for all..
The press has posted that the Feds have sent letters to all to shut down in 45 days..
They did not say they would invade early and raid them all as it appears they are doing with the aid of the Local Police...
Read the article.. It just makes me so pissed...

Federal agents are reportedly raiding the garden of Northstone Organics, a pioneering participant in Mendocino County, California's innovative "zip-tie" program to license medical marijuana gardens.

Mendocino County's zip tie program, overseen by Sheriff Tom Allman, allows legal medicinal growers to purchase zip ties from the county to designate their plants as legal.

California NORML Coordinator Dale Gieringer denounced the raid as a "shameful and despicable" attack on California's most successful legally regulated marijuana cultivation program.

2. This is going to hurt a lot of upstanding citizens.
Edited on Thu Oct-13-11 05:17 PM by Gregorian
All of the way up to supervisor and sheriff. There are many peeople here who work day jobs, and have legal gardens. It's going to hurt not only them but the community.

Stupid. Puritans.

edit- I should add that it's only rumor I have heard that supervisors and sheriffs are growing. But it's probably not far from the truth even if wrong.

3. I have a serious question.
Where are the local authorities on this? If the farm is overseen by the Sheriff, why can't he and/or the local authorities challenge these raids? Where are California's attorneys general?

This is such a ridiculous waste of taxpayer money it boggles the mind.

6. I guess it is because A National Law trumps a state law?
I don't know if they have weighed in on this over at The Supreme Court. Specifically, Article Ten of the Constitution which states:

"The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people."

That Article should keep the will of the people of California from being destroyed by the Federal government.

But then, the Federal Government and its officials are paid for by the Big Pharmaceutical companies to look out for them.

And Obama sure needs his money to come from the Big Players, cuz I can't for the life of me see how he would get campaign money from those of us he's shat on for the last three years.

7. There needs to be an aggressive, renewed effort to legalize cannabis at the state and federal level.
Every politician at every town meeting, debate or fundraiser should be questioned as to whether they support cannabis law reform, if they don't have the guts or integrity to take a stand one way or the other, that should carry heavily in the peoples' deliberations when it comes to making a choice.

This is a much bigger issue than whether an adult gets to partake of cannabis or not, these draconian, laws on multiple levels, damage our Constitution by eroding the Bill of Rights to the level of a cruel joke, enable corporate supremacy to continue its' oppressive hold on the people and thus feed economic disparity, enriches organized crime and cartels, corrupts the police, judiciary and other branches of government, weakens and breaks up the family unit, unjustly drains the people of their hard worked for assets, forces the sick and chronically ill to endure needless pain and threatens our democratic republic by continually disenfranchising and/or alienating "We the People" from our elected government.

There is simply no good reason for the people to tolerate this corruptive, governmental abuse of power spawned by such an ill-conceived, immoral and just downright mean policy of criminalizing the American People over the use of cannabis anymore.

Thanks for the thread, DreamSmoker.

8. I thought that the decision back in 2009 meant that the people of CA didn't
Need to worry about the Feds:

Here is a link:

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2009/05/18/supreme-court-hands-medic_n_204681.html

From the article:

"The Supreme Court and the lower courts in California have blown away the myth that federal law somehow prevents states from legalizing medical marijuana," said Rob Kampia, executive director for the Marijuana Policy Project.

10. More states need to get involved and at the federal level change needs to come as well.
If the political pressure is turned up enough, they will relent or be turned out of office.

Those sixteen states made progress in the fight but much more needs to be done through whatever medium the people can use to increase the odds in our favor.

I'm hoping the occupiers take up this issue as well, one thing is for sure, the for profit prison industry and their paid for political puppets won't go without a fight.

11. A truth that big cannot be deleted.
He pledged that he would end NAFTA, and he conveniently forgot that pledge.

1,000 people get arrested at the WH on account of their abhorrence for the XL Pipeline/Tar Sands project, which Clinton and Obama are both going to sign off on.

And now, while OWS rages, he put through more trade agreements!

12. Been saying this for days now: CA is in Play
Californians may simply not vote for Obama in '12 but they will vote to legalize. I am certain of this now.

This Administration, including POTUS, is dumber than dirt on this issue. Really.

17. Ya know if Schwartzennegger was still in office,
he'd have the state militia out helping the pot club owners.

That man loved his pot!

Jerry Brown is too self righteous about how "pure" he is, and probably could care less. Even though right now the medical marujuana dispensaries are the only bright spot in California's economic "recovery."

19. And ya know who it helps out? The Drug Cartels - that is
Who is going to be helped out by Obama's DEA and their actions that will keeping Californians from growing their own.

This means that our National forest lands, State forest lands, County open space will again be booby trapped et al.

While the person who is growing in their back yard gets hauled off to jail and has their property confiscated.
