1. I'd love to, but....
I live in a blood-red state, and my house would get burned down. :scared:

I think I'll stick with supporting OWS by making calls, etc. But thanks for the info. I hope it's helpful to others. :patriot:

9. I had an anti-Bush sticker on my car
I was road-raged one too many times, once by a cop, and I took it off.

6. it's the 99%. it's democratic. if you want to exclude groups because
you think they represent the "other side" when in fact they don't and the majority of the people in these groups support what is going on, you're going to lose. The vast majority of DFAers are the proletariat. They joined DFA years ago because of their frustrations with the system. Now you want to deny their participation and support? It should be welcomed.

think about it... this website is the Democratic Underground. Nearly everyone here except for the trolls are registered democrats. You get booted if you make certain statements denoting otherwise.

do you think registered democrats should be banned from the protests? do you think registered democrats should be precluded from holding signs that support the protesters?

If this is truly the 99%, it comprises people from all kinds of organizations. In many cases, the organizations themselves will realize that the protesters are in alignment with the mission of the organization. if the org wants to support the protesters, what is wrong with that?

DFA makes perfectly good sense to me.

10. It's organic. I imagine 2 months from now it will look pretty different.
bottom line is.... having signs on yards showing support is not a bad thing. and no single person down in NYC has the wherewithal to make them on their own. you have to order thousands at a time. Only an org like DFA could do this... personally I understand the idea of not wanting support from "political" organizations, but why is it OK to have support from labor unions but not DFA?
