Fox Poll Backfires on Fox
by carver

The Brad Blog reported that Fox News conducted a poll on how the public views the #OWS protests; however, the results are not likely to be a lead story on Fox anytime soon.

The question asked was ,
“Do Occupy Wall Street protest represent your views on the economy?”

Do Occupy Wall Street protest represent your views on the economy? <183,148 total responses>

67.98% you say...67.98%...oops!

1. The last time I saw this, was on their website
They just switched the numbers around to show the results to favor with right wingers. So much for fair
and balanced.

I was doing a poll on their website once, and the numbers, within an hour switched. They have no decency at all.

4. Yep, they'll lie about it or suppress it quickly and/or claim polling error. I trust
Fox about as much as Murdock.

22. It's not a scientific poll, so no need to claim polling error.
It's the kind of unrestricted internet "poll" that can be and often is manipulated by people rallied on one side or the other.

IOW, it's garbage data regardless of what it says.

25. Everyone of whatever political stripe knows the TARP bailouts
were not only wrong, but nothing more then bribe money to not go overseas and buy a few slaveworker factories. Corporations have no loyalty to this country. Always remember that.

30. Things aren't going well for Fox
The local affiliate in Washington, DC was recommending that viewers consider moving their money to a Credit Union! Why? They did not take bailout money; their BofD are unpaid; they are not for profit and their profits are returned to shareholders in the form of better rates and service. Fox even addressed the issue of the smaller size of CUs citing the recent trend to shared facilities nationwide including ATMs.
Stuff like this is just got to stop or Fox will soon be joining the mainstream media. BTW, Fox haas its own Credit Union as well.

36. Shockingly...
Edited on Wed Oct-12-11 01:48 PM by Chan790
Fox News has no control over the News divisions of its affiliates...as the late-comer to the network field and the nature of its' programming, in many liberal parts of the country it tends to be the more-liberal news local.

I'm referring to not only here in DC but also my local Fox affiliate back in Hartford. By comparison, my local (in Hartford) CBS affiliate (WFSB) is a breeding ground for conservative commentators (a regionally-known blowhard named Toby Moffatt), the ever-popular "Democratic" foil to conservatives (Mika Brzezinski was once our local morning/mid-day news anchor) and FNC contributors (lots of those).

Edit: WFSB also gave us repeat Republican candidate for Congress Janet Peckinpaugh who was the evening news host for nearly a decade.

39. It screwed up my vote, like all Rethug voting equipment does...
I tried to vote yes twice and it hung once. The second time it hung and it came up with a popup that said "Couldn't find nonce." and still showed the poll. I didn't look closely but noticed as I tried to vote again that it switched my selected box to be "No" instead. I had already pressed the button unfortunately and then it showed me the results screen. So perhaps they are trying to "fix" the results in this way if it goes too much out of their favor.
