Ford, Chrysler face complaints from Made in the U.S.A. group

DETROIT – Ford Motor Co. and Chrysler Group LLC are accused of misleading advertising in complaints filed with the Federal Trade Commission by the Made in the USA Foundation.

The California-based group claims the automakers are using misleading ads to market certain vehicles as made-in-the-United States when they are not.

The foundation said it filed a complaint against Chrysler for its television and print ads for the Chrysler 300 in which the automaker uses the tagline "Imported From Detroit."

The Chrysler 300 sedan is assembled in Brampton, Ontario, and often includes a Mexican-made engine, according to the foundation.

2. "Japan earthquake and tsunami forces production cuts at Honda and Toyota plants in Alabama"
Odd that they would shut down these 100% American made lines due to an event in Japan. :hi:

Deep production cuts by Honda and Toyota in the wake of the devastating earthquake and tsunami in Japan are hampering the burgeoning recovery in Alabama's auto industry.
All month, the Japanese automakers have slashed output at their state factories to cope with a parts shortage that stems from damaged or slowed supplier operations in Japan.

8. And ship the money to Japan, not really a good idea.
And that doesn't even count all the uncontrolled acceleration incidents and other wonderfulness that has came with the imports.

9. Canada and Mexico are American, North American.
We either rise or fall together. Shipping money off continent does none of us any good.
