Occupy K Street needs to get going, like, yesterday.

For real. That's the real problem. Does anyone know if folks in DC are organizing anything (not necessarily on K Street)?

5. I agree, and have stated the same in the past.
They continue to ignore this GROWING movement -- and in contrast covered every 'tea bagger' event no matter how small or insignificant.

6. Horizontal organizing doesn't include TV
Begging for MSM attention gives the MSM power (that they don't really have).

21. The "lack of demands" also denied the powers that be any sort of handle upon the movement
in its first days.

October 6th

edit to add

I’m confused! Why do I keep seeing Oct. 6th as the official date of occupation?
October 6th is the date that Stop the Machine/October2011 is coming to Freedom Plaza to protest anti-militarism and other things. They just happened to take the# occupydc name before us but they are a separate, nationwide organization that are making their voices heard. They have been planning for this date for months in advance and are very well organized. OccupyDC is a local movement, completely grassroots that is directly connected to the OccupyTogether and OccupyWallStreet movement. We do, however, plan on joining Stop the Machine when they come to town. Again, they are a separate group from us that just happened to have good timing!

I knew someone on here would have an answer.

And for anyone wondering, their meeting place, McPherson Square Metro, is in the heart of the K Street corridor.

10. Real cold won't hit for another month.
Sure, there are going to be some cold(ish) nights in October, but the real stuff doesn't hit the NE Corridor until mid-November or so.

That's a looooong time.
