Friend of mine who I go fishing with occasionally bought a used pickup truck. I went fishing with him a few times and never noticed the bumper sticker on it until last week. It reads "Gun Control Means Using Two Hands." I asked him about it and he said it was on the truck when he bought it. I asked him why he hasn't removed it? He said he has had a lot of thumbs ups and compliments about it so he kept it on.
Now I don't think this guy even owns a gun. He has never said he is for or against gun control. We just never discussed it. We go fishing, not hunting so it never came up.
But he seemed offended that I won't ride with him any more like I am trying to infringe on his right to free speech or something.
That is not the reason I don't want to ride with him. The reason I don't want to ride with him is because I don't want to, "accidentally", get shot by a nervous cop in a traffic pull over situation. Because I know if I were a cop a bumper sticker like that would tend to make me nervous pulling over a couple of thugs in a pickup truck. Cop doesn't know we are just a couple of guys going fishing.
Would you ride with this fellow?
