Is this a free speech issue?
Friend of mine who I go fishing with occasionally bought a used pickup truck. I went fishing with him a few times and never noticed the bumper sticker on it until last week. It reads "Gun Control Means Using Two Hands." I asked him about it and he said it was on the truck when he bought it. I asked him why he hasn't removed it? He said he has had a lot of thumbs ups and compliments about it so he kept it on.

Now I don't think this guy even owns a gun. He has never said he is for or against gun control. We just never discussed it. We go fishing, not hunting so it never came up.

But he seemed offended that I won't ride with him any more like I am trying to infringe on his right to free speech or something.

That is not the reason I don't want to ride with him. The reason I don't want to ride with him is because I don't want to, "accidentally", get shot by a nervous cop in a traffic pull over situation. Because I know if I were a cop a bumper sticker like that would tend to make me nervous pulling over a couple of thugs in a pickup truck. Cop doesn't know we are just a couple of guys going fishing.

Would you ride with this fellow?

3. What do they do with the other hand?
That's what makes me nervous, because the gun might go off accidentally.

I know, I know. If they use both hands they have more control over the gun.

Your friend seems a little too naive to be believable. He knows perfectly well what the sticker means.

4. i`d have no problem....
well around here the cops would`t be put off by it. they are to busy arresting anyone that moves on the weekends.

BUT don`t go fishing around here with a bb gun because our crack swat team will surround you with m-16`s,45`s, and a M5.

5. Your reaction is well over the top
Tacky signs in windows are common outside of the cities. Remember Terrorist Hunting Licenses serial number 911? Those were tame compared to many.
