Waiting for the grand explanation... or Obama gets a Vietnam.
Edited on Fri Sep-30-11 02:25 PM by Safetykitten
Of course there are some that find the Wall Street protest distastefull. The reasons vary from "why", to "what are they trying to prove", to "it's not appropriate".

But I am waiting for the grand explanation. First, the person that could be giving some support to this in any small way is one Mr. Obama. Has he said anything of note about this? Anything said in passing? Maybe a nod? Correct me if I am wrong, and I know you will, but has the WH said anything about this strange phenomenon?

I don't think he has. And I don't think the WH has either. Like the protests of the sixties, they perplexed the people in power at the time in the very begining. Now as in the sixties, the WH is ignoring quite a little movement that is gaining steam and soon it will be a big movement. What is it about? Does it matter now? It's starting and getting bigger. Now would be the time to give a small token shout out, or passing nod to this going on in New York, but it will not happen. Like the Tea Party gaining momentum while a passive WH watched, we now are paying the price for that. We will be paying again apparently.

But I assume that the WH will be fanatically defended as this is part of a bigger plan. Maybe Obama's quietness during the Wisconsin thing was part of the plan. They could make that case, as they try to extract the most teniuos strategy reasons for missing the boat, or in the case of this President, missing the exit to the port. So I will try to make that excuse/explanation.

President Obama is not getting involved in the Wall Street protest because he did not get involved in the other protests in Wisconsin, and that's OK, because he meant to do that.

Is that about right?

1. There is a thread in GD about him fund raising with Wall Street
but I am sure his shoes are quite comfortable.

2. I noticed.
It does not sit well with me either. Does he have any idea the kind of support that is waiting there for him if he'd only come claim it? I guess not.
